This base is working great. We have a long extension on the table and have ordered the extension base, but it has not come yet. We have a very heavy table saw and have been trying to find a base that will work. The locks on the wheels keep it very steady during use. The base is working fine for now without the extension, which was a worry. We tried making our own as well as purchasing ones that lift the saw onto the wheels in order to move it. Neither of these worked as the saw is simply too heavy.
Absolutely no tools needed. I had it together within 5 minuets. This is the best mobile base I have bought. This thing has locking pins so it slides to adjust to size. Jet put a lot of thought into this item and this will not be the last Jet product I buy. I tried a different brand this time. I know Jet is a very good name and now I am a believer.
It is sturdy and the assembly uses no tools: it just snaps together. You can make an 18" side by cutting one of the bars is half with a hacksaw.
Now the two 12" short bars are used to join the short sides. This takes less than ten minutes.
I ordered this base after looking at a number of products. The minimum size is 18".
I used this technique to make a base for a band saw with a footprint of about 18" by 30" and it worked very well. It is a great product.
It rolls easily even with 500 lb of machine on it.The minimum size is listed as 24" X 24" but this is not true.
Combine that with free Super Saver shipping (I received the base in two days) and Amazon can't be beat. I've always been satisfied with products ordered through Amazon. I ordered this mobile base for my new Jet JPS-10: 10" ProShop 1-3/4HP 30" CW Tablesaw. They even deducted another $13.50 discount to their already low price. Thanks for the great Amazon customer service. The base is perfect for this tablesaw; thanks to the reviewers of the Jet tablesaws for suggesting this base. Amazon's posted price was almost half the price my local Woodcraft was selling the base for.
If you've got typical basement/garage floors this doesn't get it. Get the Shop Fox it's not quite as slick but it's every bit as strong and it has levelers. Ok, nice package, easy assembly, good quality, stong enough to handle the router table (shop build to Norm Abram's plans 5-Star) with all of my bits three routers, wenches, templates, partridge and pear tree, etc. But no levelers.
